Cisadane Timur PHB Channel Dike in Kalideres is Being Repaired

Tens personnel were deployed to repair collapsed dike on Cisadane Timur connecting channel (PHB), Kalideres Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-district, West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency's Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Wawan Kurniawan mentioned, collapse of Cisadane Timur phb channel's dike was due to age. It was broken along 32 meters.

"We deploy 20 West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency to repair it," he stated, Friday (6/18).

Channel Normalization Carried Out in 2 RWs Kebon Kosong Urban Village

Repair has been carried out since May 28, 2021 and it is predicted to be completed by the end of July 2021.

"Total repair is carried out from foundation to top," he added.

In order to strengthen the dike, his side used dolken woods for its foundation, Its depth is varied between 1-2 meters, depending on soil hardness level.

"We use dolken woods with different heights depending on whether the soil is hard or not. There are 6 woods in every 6 meters. Total 32 meters, thus it needs 192 woods," he explained.

In this repair, personnel were equipped with various tools, such as cement spoons, hoes, buckets, sledgehammers, crowbars, mattock, chisels, saws, and pumps.

"By building new dike, we hope it will not disrupt water flow," he closed.
